PELEPAS
Successfully renewed certification
assessments for EMS: ISO 14001:2015 and
OHSMS: ISO 45001:2018. The assessment
was conducted from 3 to 6 October 2022
by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance.
User Acceptance Test stage for Dangerous
Goods Declaration System in November 2022.
Participated in three projects for the Second
National Stakeholders Roundtable for IMO
Green Voyage 2050, which was held on
23 November 2022 at Prestige Hotel, Penang.
Launched Prime Mover Driving Safety Video
in December 2022.
Successfully organised Major Disaster
Exercise Tier 2 (M-DEX) involving external
agencies such as Agensi Pengurusan
Bencana Negara, Polis Diraja Malaysia,
Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia, Jabatan
Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia and
Johor Port Authority & Tabletop Exercise for
Business Continuity Plan and Emergency
Response Plan in December 2022.
NORTHPORT
Conducted ISO 45001:2018 Gap Assessment
Visit to Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) from 4 to 7
October 2022 to assist MPL in identifying the gaps
in Occupational Safety and Health Management
System and determining the next steps to be taken
to meet the ISO 45001:2018 standard requirement.
Northport took home three awards during
the National Occupational Health and Safety
(OSH) Awards 2020/2021 namely the CEO of
the Year (Private Sector), Business Services
and Mentor-Mentee (Mentor) awards. The award
ceremony was held at the Movenpick Hotel and
Convention Centre KLIA, Sepang on 11 November
2022.
Participated in Vendor Day 2022 at Port of Tanjung
Pelepas on 17 November 2022. The purpose of
the programme was to improve knowledge of
energy saver solutions, solar energy products and
schedule waste management. The programme
was also to benchmark PTP’s ESG programme
and build networking among industry players.
JOHOR PORT
Organised Fire Drill Exercise involving Wisma
Kontena Building and Container New Yard with the
objective of testing readiness and familiarisation
of building occupants and operational staff in the
event of emergency or security incidents.
Regular engagements (Safety Toolbox Briefing)
between the management team and contractors.
Participated in the Pasir Gudang Emergency Mutual
Aid (PAGEMA) Mock Drill Programme 2022.
Organised JPB HSE Day 2022 with the objective
of continuously promoting health, safety and
environment amongst its employees and port
users. Various activities were held during the
event including safety and environment talks,
mass aerobic exercise, and exhibition booths by
several agencies including government bodies and
private companies.
Performed Audiometric Test on 14 December
2022 by an approved Audiometric Testing Centre
registered with the Department of Occupational
Safety and Health; Junpec Audiometry and Safety
Services. The test was conducted to comply with the
Occupational Safety and Health (Noise Exposure)
Regulations 2019.
Participated in the Program Pantai Lestari @
Tanjung Harapan organised by Majlis Perbandaran
Klang on 27 November 2022. The gotong-royong
programme to clean up the shore area along
Tanjung Harapan beach also saw participation
from Port Klang Authority, Malaysian Maritime
Enforcement Agency, Jabatan Kemajuan Orang
Asli and the industrial community in Tanjung
Harapan.
Conducted Northport Safety Day 2022 on
2 December 2022 with the theme “Demi Keluarga
Anda, Utamakan Keselamatan”. The programme
aimed at emphasising the importance of prioritising
safe and healthy working practices among
employees for the sake of their loved ones.
Participated in the Tea Talk MPK 2022 at Premiere
Hotel on 23 December 2022. During the session,
the CEO of Northport, Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd
Yusof delivered a presentation on “ESG Practice
in Northport (Role of Private Sector in Ensuring
the Planet’s Sustainability)”. The session aimed
at strengthening the positive relationship among
the industry players around Klang.
