          GALVANISING EFFICIENCY:

          PRODUCTIVITY IN THE WORKPLACE

          LEVERAGING OUR

          TALENT

Ultimately, each port’s productivity and results are heavily
determined by the performance of each port’s workforce,
relying on every member’s dedication, expertise and oversight
to deliver value across every department. As such, each port
has dedicated measures and resources to uplift the abilities of
          all teams.

                           NORTHPORT
Northport heavily invests in multiple avenues to enhance
the capabilities of its workforce. Firstly, key performance
indicators (KPIs) are a major driving factor behind the
uptick in performances at the port, with departmental KPIs
cascading into shared as well as individual scorecards.
This is implemented through the Performance Excellence
Programme (PEP), an annual evaluation process that gauges
employees’ performance against their goals and targets.
Northport also offers a variety of upskilling programmes
and maintains transparent open dialogues to align all
stakeholders, achieved through its Northport International
Centre of Excellence (NICE) which continuously enhances
the skills and knowledge of Northport employees through
56 HRD Corp-certified trainers and CEO townhalls that
share insights into the company’s aspirations and direction.
Additionally, the port has optimised its resource allocation for
third-party vendors and contractors, done through constant
evaluation to avoid complacency and ensure consistent
          service quality.

                                PTP

PTP prioritises a holistic approach to fostering efficiency
among its workforce. This involves a comprehensive strategy
encompassing training and development, incentives and
          recognition, effective communication, and state-of-the-art
facilities. The port creates a conducive and supportive
work environment, investing in smart infrastructure such
as Internet of Things (IoT) devices for energy management
and modern ergonomic workstations. This commitment
to operational efficiency is reinforced through a culture of
continuous improvement, fostered through initiatives like
Kaizen workshops, Lean for All programmes, young leaders
          development programmes (POPA/YEAP), and technology-
          based training sessions.
Furthermore, performance tracking systems and incentive
apps are established to motivate and galvanise top
performers, appropriately rewarding high performers while
supporting those in need of a lift.
