ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION
INSTALLATION OF MAEKO FOOD COMPOSTER MACHINE
Northport installed the MAEKO Food Composter Machine to efficiently convert food waste into compost, significantly reducing environmental impact. The
compost derived from this process will not only contribute to the reduction of environmental impact associated with food waste disposal but will also play
a crucial role in fostering sustainable practices. The compost produced will be utilised as fertiliser for landscaping activities within the port area.
PTP ECO LESTARI 3R PROGRAMME
PTP together with JPA and Kelab Alami Mukim Tanjung Kupang
organised an environmental activity called Eco Lestari 3R programme
with the community.
During the programme, a total of 30 students were briefed on the
Upcycle / Freecycle Process, its usage, and the types of upcycle samples.
Students were divided into six groups for group work based on the
given topics – 3R, Mangrove and Compost. The students also did
group presentations on what they learned on the given topics with the
guidance of Kelab Alami.
KONTENA NASIONAL 3R PROGRAMME AYUH KITAR SEMULA 8.0
Kontena Nasional organised the 3R – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Northport continued to organise its annual 3R Programme (Reduce,

PROGRAM PANTAI LESTARI @ TANJUNG HARAPAN
Northport participated in the Program Pantai Lestari @ Tanjung Harapan
organised by Klang Municipal Council. The gotong-royong programme
to clean up the shore area along Tanjung Harapan beach also saw
the participation of PKA, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency,
various Non-Governmental Organisations and the industrial community
in Tanjung Harapan.
PTP PARTICIPATES IN 100 MILLION TREES CAMPAIGN
PTP showcased their support for the Government’s initiative in making
Malaysia green through the 100 Million Trees Campaign at Tanjung Piai
National Park, Pontian, Johor.
A group of PTP volunteers across divisions together with Southern
Volunteers and Tanjung Piai National Park staff and successfully planted
5,000 mangrove saplings of Rhizophora Mucronata (Bakau Kurap) and
Rhizophora Apiculate (Bakau Minyak).
The campaign was an initiative by the Ministry of Natural Resources,
Environment, and Climate Change, aimed at increasing awareness of
the importance of green cover areas and forests for the well-being
and quality of life in addition to improving the country's ecosystem
and biodiversity.
