Exploring Responsible Road
Construction

Johor Port is mainly exploring the use of green-label
cement for road construction works with MMC Engineering,
with another potential solution being the recycling or reuse of
the construction materials with chemical binders to form the
road base.

Battery Energy Storage System
(BESS)

PTP plans to establish a BESS as a sustainable and efficient
energy solution. This system will enable PTP to charge the
battery storage during off-peak electricity tariff periods and
then strategically discharge the stored energy during on-peak
TNB tariff hours. The design for this new system is slated to be
completed by Q2 2024.

Environmental Impact Assessment
(EIA)

Northport has implemented EIA for all new projects, utilising
an environmental decision support tool to assess potential
environmental, social and health impacts.

Modernisation of Passenger Lifts

Johor Port has carried out the tendering process for the
modernisation of two Mitsubishi Passenger Lifts at Wisma
Kontena as part of its energy-saving initiatives to enable smart
facility management.
