PRODUCTIVITY IN THE WORKPLACE

NORTHPORT
Northport has initiated several expansionary CAPEX
plans extending through FY2027 to boost throughput and
productivity as well as optimise resource utilisation. All
planned measures serve to contribute to the following goals
as categorised below:
• Encourage customer growth
Upgrade works for Wharf 9, conversion of Wharf 24 to
liquid wharf and purchase of upgraded quay cranes
(QCs).
• Enhance handling capacity
Purchases planned for three units of level luffing cranes
and six units of QCs, strengthening of Wharf 22 to Wharf
25, development of new break bulk terminal at CT2
and purchase of 45 road-going trailers for Northport
Distripark Sdn Bhd.
• Energise productivity and transition to green energy
Equipment replacement of prime movers, reach stackers,
trailers, empty stackers, RTGs and installation of EV
charging stations.
• Enable digitalisation and automation
Implementation of Automated Container Damage
Detection and Optical Character Recognition system for
container operations.
PTP
PTP is actively pursuing cutting-edge strategic initiatives
to enhance its operational throughput, involving significant
infrastructure expansions to increase capacity and
accommodate clients’ needs. PTP is also in the midst of
implementing advanced digitalisation and automation
technologies to streamline operations, reduce manual
processes, and improve efficiency. This involves the
deployment of systems such as inspection-based Crane
Optical Character Recognition, LIDAR CCTV Analytics, Prime
Mover Training Simulator, and Augmented Reality inspection
and maintenance tools. At the same time, measures such
as Staff RFID and IoT Devices for Office and Green Building
Index also demonstrate PTP’s commitment towards
sustainability and safety-centric growth.
